Should you trip alone? A lot of people ask themselves this question, because they feel like they are tripping for themselves and, thus, it makes sense to be alone in order to go inward. Other people consider tripping alone, because they get self conscious when they’re around other people and they want to be able to be fully themselves: to yell, to scream, to cry, to dance. Tripping alone can be incredibly rewarding—you can emerge feeling raw and tender, but also triumphant, having taken a heroic journey and made it through the other side with only your own inner resources. Tripping alone can also be a powerful way to remember that you can take care of yourself and that so many of the answers you’re seeking live within you. A solo journey can, however, be incredibly challenging, too, and sometimes it’s hard to know—even after years of psychedelic work—if it’s something you’re ready for or the right time in your life to do it. In this workshop with psychologist, integration specialist, and our resident integration therapist Dr. Ido Cohen, we cover questions to ask yourself before you journey alone, practices for before and after to help you cultivate skills to be your own guide, what to do if challenging sensations and thoughts begin to emerge during your trip, and much more.
