People are often deterred from tripping and holding space for others out of fear of the dreaded “bad trip.” It’s true—psychedelics can bring all kinds of thoughts and emotions to the surface that are uncomfortable. These can be challenging for the person who is having the experience to navigate—and it can also be challenging for the person who is supporting to help them through it. And yet, there are fundamental principles we can all learn so that we enter into our journeys more prepared. Nir Tadmor and Igal Tartakovsky are the founders of Safe Shore, a psychedelic harm reduction, education, and peer support project operating safe spaces at parties and festivals. They also run trainings on how to hold space and navigate psychedelic crises. In this workshop, they’ll cover how to create a safe space, the difference between a “difficult” and “bad” trip, how to identify a spiritual emergency and/ or psychotic breakdown that may require professional intervention following a journey, evidence-based crisis intervention methods, and more. As always, there will be time for questions from our community and this event will be recorded.
